How is Colorado Weigh different?
- Our curriculum is science-based. It is developed by the Center for Human Nutrition at the Health Sciences Center at the University of Colorado.
- The program is customized. We tailor caloric and activity goals to the desired weight loss and metabolism of each participant. Your weight loss and activity goals will be unique to you.
- Class size is limited. We close our classes at 25 maximum participants.
- We track the results of our program, and we publish aggregate weight loss and activity data that proves the effectiveness of our program. We also monitor the results of our program by instructor to ensure a consistently high quality of delivery across all classes.
- Our curriculum evolves. We constantly update and improve our course materials, instructor training and student experience based on the latest proven weight loss methods.
- We emphasize making small changes and gradual weight loss. Our focus is teaching you life skills for longer term success.
- Students eat real food, and make their own nutritional choices. There are a few meal replacement bars available to our students, but use of them is optional. We teach our students skills for use in the real world of grocery stores and restaurants.
- Everyone in the course is at the same place in their weight loss. The group goes through the curriculum at the same pace, starting with week one and building throughout the 12-week experience.
- Courses are taught by registered dietitians, specially trained in weight loss and weight management.
- Your weekly food and activity logs are personally reviewed by your registered dietitian each week. He or she will make comments and suggestions for improvement on a weekly basis.
- Activity is an integral part of our program. The Colorado Weigh encourages modest increases in physical activity that can add up to big dividends in weight loss and improved health.
